* As part of iodine testing, there are thyroid tests that are also highly recommended.
These can sometimes be done through whatever insurance you have, but the iodine tests
are usually out-of-pocket because they are specialized tests that most labs do not do.

Additionally, if testing reveals deficiencies, and corrective measures are taken, follow-up
testing to be sure those corrective measures were effective are advised.
