Are American Car Companies Really American?

America's two biggest car companies, Ford and GM, claim in their TV ads to be "Built for America" and "An American Revolution", but are they really "American made"? Well in reality, the most American made cars today are from Tesla, who take the top four rankings. You have to go down to #19 to find a GM vehicle that's made in America, and down to #38 to find a Ford that's made in America.

Why do these companies make most of their cars in countries other than America? It's more profitable. And that's their bottom line... profit. It's not that Tesla doesn't care about profit, but they also care about providing jobs to Americans for products sold in America. So they make their cars that are for sale in American in America. Yes, in about a year, they will be making one model in Mexico. Why? Because labor is less expensive there, and they want to make a very affordable EV car for Americans so more Americans will transition to EVs... It'll be about $17,500 and will be better than other cars that are twice the price.

NOTE: "ICE" = Internal Combustion Engine, "PHEV" = Plug-in hybrid
