Tesla is in first place,
but doesn't win?

J.D. Power included Tesla in its rankings (sort of), but doesn't include Tesla in their contest, and doesn't give Tesla the award for first place even though Tesla came in first! And Tesla is not allowed to promote the fact that they won... because they didn't win, officially.

Look at the top of this list... do you see Tesla there?  No.

Where are they?

In a momnent, I'll explain why their ranking wasn't included in the study,
but if we put Tesla where they belong in the ranking, it would look like this...

And hell, even though J.D. Power may get mad at me,
I'm going to give Tesla the gold award they deserve.
Sorry Hyundai, there's only a first and second place award.

That's more like it!

Now, why didn't J.D. Power place Tesla where they belong, and why didn't the award for first place go to Tesla? To get a J.D. Power award, a company must "participate" in the study. And that means paying J.D. Power money. What a shocker! The typical "pay-to-play" scheme. But Tesla don't play that game.

Want proof of J.D. Power's game? This is from deep within the J. D. Power website...

"Subscribing" means, give us money!

Meaning, if Tesla announces that they won the J.D. Power award for Tech Expertise, they can be sued by J.D. Power. So I'll say it!

Tesla took first place in J.D. Power's Tech Expertise study...
by a mile!

And as Edith Ann (Lily Tomlin) said on Rowan & Martin's Laugh In, "And that's the truth."
